Care staff praised for efforts to provide essential support
A care group has praised the work done by its staff during the coronavirus pandemic.
Home Instead Dudley and Sandwell South works to provide home care services which can be tailored to individual needs, including companion care, home help and specialist care for dementia and alzheimers disease.
It has announced that all care givers and clients of the service have, to date, tested negative for coronavirus and has offered praise to the care givers for their hard work during the pandemic.
Susan Love, director of community engagement, spoke about what Home Instead had done to help staff during a difficult time.
She said: “All our care givers have been contacted on a weekly basis and PPE delivered to their homes personally by our office and management team.
“We’ve sent sweet parcels to them, letters of thanks and sent them all a fob watch with the words ‘we’ve got all the time in the world for you!’, and they have been absolutely amazing.
“Our care givers and clients have all remained free from the infection and this is testimony to the excellent care provided by our care givers following the strict guidelines they have been given on a regular basis.”
Susan said: “Earls High School made and donated 40 face visors for our care givers and Health Futures UTC wrote over 60 letters to send to our care givers.
“These helped to thank them for caring for the vulnerable members of our society and also to our clients to bring them some happiness and good cheer during the difficult situation.”
The service has announced it is looking for new members of staff after an increase in demand.
