'Forever 16': First picture of 'bright and caring' girl, 16, who died in Midlands
Lillianna Tomlinson tragically died after getting into difficulty whilst swimming with friends.
The first image of 16-year-old schoolgirl, Lillianna Tomlinson, has been released by Warwickshire Police as the family pay tribute to their ‘bright and caring’ loved one.
Lillianna was sadly declared deceased at the scene after being pulled from the water of the River Tame, near Kingsbury Water Park, just before 6.10pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

Tragically, Lillianna had gotten into difficulty whilst swimming with friends, leading to an hour-long search by emergency services.
Despite their best efforts, and the efforts of those who attempted to save the 16-year-old, Lillianna’s body was sadly recovered from the river an hour later.
Now, Warwickshire Police have released the first image of Lillianna as her family pays tribute to their ‘bright, kind and caring’ daughter.
The family said: “Lil was a bright, kind, and caring young girl who touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

“She had a beautiful smile, a loving heart, and a way of making people feel seen and valued. She brought laughter, friendship, and joy to so many, and her loss has left an unimaginable void in the lives of her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
“For my daughter, Lil was more than a best friend—she was a sister in spirit, a confidante, and a constant source of support and happiness. The memories they shared will be treasured forever.
“Though her life was far too short, Lil’s impact was immeasurable. She will be loved, remembered, and missed every single day.
“Forever 16. Forever in our hearts.”

Releasing the image, the family also thanked the community for their support and kindness during this difficult time, saying that ‘it means more than words can express’.
The tribute said: “Our family is completely devastated and will be forever heartbroken.
"We would like to take a moment to sincerely thank our community for the love, compassion and support that has been shown to us, and for sharing in our grief - it means more than words can express.
"During this incredibly difficult time, we kindly ask for privacy while we come to terms with what has happened."
A fundraiser to help support funeral expenses and memorial costs was launched over the weekend, quickly gaining more than £1,800 over a two-day period.
