Temperatures are expected to climb to around 17°C, bringing plenty of sunshine across the region after more than two months of cold, wet weather.

After a typically unsettled start to the week, Wednesday’s conditions should provide a pleasant change. Skies are expected to stay mostly clear through the day, allowing sunshine to lift temperatures comfortably above those seen earlier in the week.

Forecasts suggest a chilly morning, with temperatures close to 1°C, but the sunshine will quickly help conditions feel milder by late morning and into the afternoon. Moderate winds will mean the temperature will feel more like 15°C, which is still an improvement on recent conditions.

The warm and bright spell is expected to follow a mixed Monday, with cloud increasing and a few scattered showers possible across the region during the afternoon. Highs are likely to reach around 10°C, making it noticeably cooler than the days ahead.

Conditions should improve on Tuesday as cloud begins to break up, allowing more sunshine to develop and temperatures to reach around 15°C.

Wednesday looks set to be the standout day, with long spells of sunshine across much of the Black Country and Staffordshire. Parks, town centres and high streets could see more people making the most of the mild weather during the afternoon.

The settled conditions continue into Thursday, with further sunny intervals and temperatures still comfortably mild at around 16°C. However, the warmth is expected to ease slightly heading into the end of the week.

By Friday, cloud is forecast to thicken across the West Midlands, bringing cooler conditions with highs closer to 12°C. The weekend currently looks fairly typical for early spring – a mixture of cloud and sunny spells with temperatures around 11–12°C.
