Child spotted on frozen Sutton Park lake on a bike prompting cold weather danger warning
Children have been warned of the dangers of going out in frozen lakes in the cold weather after one was seen in Sutton Park on a bike.
Fears were raised after a group of children were spotted going out on Blackroot Pool at the Birmingham beauty spot.
Concern was raised on the Sutton Coldfield Together Facebook page after the incident today (Monday).

A parent posted: “Please, guys, if you recognise your child in the photo, please call them and ask them to stop going on the ice.
"A few passers-by have warned them, but they still take the bike out and ignore. Sutton Park lake, by the bistro.”
Please note: We have not used the photo the commentators refer to.
Stephen Dickenson, commenting under the post, said: “If it cracks, they go under and their body temperature will quickly decline into shock, you won't be able to swim as your heart won't take the cold, you will begin to drown in seconds.”
One person recalled the death of Daniel Drewitt who died in Powell's Pool in the park in July last year
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: “Surface ice can look deceptively solid, but is often thin, fragile and unpredictable.
“It can give way suddenly, plunging people or pets into freezing cold water and serious danger.
“West Midlands Fire Service is particularly concerned about the risks to children, who may be tempted to play near or on frozen water, and dog walkers who may instinctively venture on to ice or into the water if a pet gets into difficulty."
