Residents in the Black Country woke up to very wintry scenes this morning as snow descended.

An alternative way to travel to school in Walsall as snow falls on the Black Country

The first flakes started landing yesterday, but didn't settle on the ground until late afternoon.

A Met Office weather warning for snow is in place all day, and runs until 2pm on Friday.

The snow has caused disruption in the region, with some schools closing and a number of bus routes being diverted.

Attractions such as Dudley Zoo and the Black Country Living Museum are also closed today.
