Man airlifted from Weston Park V Festival site after fall
A man was airlifted to hospital on the final day of this year's V Festival at Weston Park.
The man, in his twenties, had suffered a fall, and ambulance staff said said there was "enough concern" for him to be taken to hospital for further treatment by air ambulance.
Steve Parry, speaking for West Midlands Ambulance service said: "It was on Sunday, at about midday. We understand he had been in a fall but the circumstances are not entirely clear.
"He was airlifted out to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton."
He said the injury followed another airlift to hospital on Saturday for a man in his sixties, who was complaining of chest pain.
On Sunday another man was treated on-site for minor injuries after a vehicle fire.
Mr Parry said that this year 850 people were treated on site, the majority for pre-existing conditions or minor trips and falls. 18 people were taken to hospital.
At 2013's festival 1,385 people were treated and 30 taken to hospital, he said, so the number of medical problems at the event was markedly down.
