Missing teenager found safe and well after family tragedy
A boy aged 16 has been found safe and well after vanishing from his home in Birmingham while struggling to deal with the death of his younger brother.
Adam Dugmore went missing at around 8.45am yesterday when he left the family home on Tyburn Road, Erdington, to go to school.
He was reported missing to police at 11am by his father who found out that he had not turned up for school.
His parents were said to be 'beside themselves with worry', but last night West Midlands Police confirmed he had been found safe and well in Aston.
Earlier in the day, the force said Adam had been struggling to come to terms with the death of his nine-year-old brother, Aaron, who took his own life in February this year.
Adam was reported missing by his father at 11am after he failed to turn up for school at North Birmingham Academy.
Chief Supt Rachel Jones, commander for the Birmingham north local policing unit, said: "He was reported missing to police at 11am by his dad who found out that he hadn't turned up for school.
"Adam has been struggling to come to terms with the death of his nine-year-old brother, Aaron, who took his own life in February this year."
Less than 12 hours before he went missing, Adam also said he was looking forward to the derby between West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa last night.
Younger brother Aaron was found hanged in his bedroom at the family home by mum Kelly Dugmore, 30, at about 5.45pm on February 11.
He was rushed to Birmingham Children's Hospital where doctors were unable to revive him and he later died.
His family claimed that the schoolboy had been suffering at the hands of bullies at Erdington Hall Primary School.
