Driver killed in A460 crash is named by officers

A Porsche driver killed in a two-car crash on a dual carriageway near junction 11 of the M6 has been named by police as a 66-year-old Staffordshire man.

George Albert Taylor died at the scene of the smash on the A460 Wolverhampton Road in between the M6 and M6 Toll junctions on Friday.

His Porsche Boxster was in collision with a Citroen Xsara Picasso and ended up in a ditch at around 3.15pm.

A man and woman, both aged 23, and a baby travelling in the Picasso were checked over at the scene.

Despite the efforts of the emergency services nothing could be done to save Mr Taylor, of Dorchester Road, Cannock.

His family are being supported by specially trained officers.
