Dudley youth centre building destroyed in arson attack

A youth centre building at a community hub in the Black Country was destroyed in an arson attack in the early hours of today.

Fire crews saw flames shoot up to 40ft into the night sky as they arrived at St Thomas's Network community centre, in Kates Hill, Dudley.

Crews from Dudley, Brierley Hill, Tipton and Oldbury were sent to tackle the blaze which started around 12.25am today.

Yobs had broken into the building, which had previously been a classroom at the ex-school site, through a window.

It took the 20 firefighters around an hour to bring the blaze under control.
