New nursery school places have been confirmed at these 17 Black Country establishments.

The Department for Education said 52 schools in the West Midlands will open or expand nurseries from September, in total creating around 1,000 new places for local children. 

Families in Birmingham, Dudley, Staffordshire, Walsall, Worcestershire, Sandwell, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, Warwickshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Coventry and Herefordshire will also benefit from a further boost to early education, with nurseries set to receive an additional £363 per child to support children from lower income backgrounds.

For those in the Black Country that will mean new places at the following 17 schools: 

Brierley Hill Primary School

The school was rated 'Good' following an inspection in March 2025, in a report published in May.

Hurst Hill Primary School

The school has a 'Good' overall rating from its latest Ofsted inspection.

Location: Paul Street, Coseley, Bilston, WV14 9AJ.

Netherton Park Nursery School

The school has an 'Outstanding' overall rating from its latest Ofsted inspection in November 2022.

Location: Netherton Park, Netherton, DY2 9QF.

The school has a 'Good' overall rating from its latest Ofsted inspection in January 2024.
