A public consultation exercise is being launched with residents and interest groups being invited to air their views on the plans to increase the capacity of a satellite site in Stourbridge for a borough special school.

Dudley Council is working in partnership with Ascent Multi Academy Trust to develop the Unicorn Satellite Centre based in Bretell Lane in Amblecote in Stourbridge to become part of The Brier School in Bromley Lane in Kingswinford.

The Unicorn Centre closed its doors in August last year after previously providing specialist care for adults with profound learning difficulties and complex health needs.

The building has been brought back into use in the last few months on a pilot basis to support the Kingswinford school’s existing capacity and ever-growing need to develop specialist provision.
