Historic Stourbridge college set to host popular BBC Radio 4 discussion programme
A Stourbridge college is set to be the setting for the recording of a popular current affairs and topical discussion radio show.
King Edward VI College has announced that it will be hosting BBC Radio 4's Any Questions? on Friday, September 19.
The programme, which is hosted by Alex Forsyth, has been a fixture on British airwaves since 1948 and on BBC Radio 4 since 1970, visiting a different part of the UK every week with a panel of four speakers who answer questions from the audience, providing people with the opportunity to challenge politicians, policy makers, writers, and thinkers.
The panel is different each week and is broadcast live on Radio 4 straight after the 8pm news bulletin, with questions provided on cards filled in by members of the audience, who also asked their questions on air.
Doors will open at 6.30pm and close at 7.15pm, with the programme being broadcast live from 8pm to 9pm.
A spokesman for King Edward VI College said: "We are delighted to share that King Edward VI College, Stourbridge will be hosting BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions? on the evening of Friday, September 19.
"First broadcast in 1948, Any Questions? is one of the BBC’s longest-running and most prestigious political discussion programmes, bringing together leading figures from politics, the arts, business, and beyond to debate the issues of the day in front of a live audience.
"We are honoured to welcome this iconic broadcast to our College."
