The Royal School, based on Penn Road in the city, has submitted further plans, including the drawings, following the initial application that was made in November last year.

The plans have been submitted as part of the school's conversion to a free school.

The plans, if approved overall, would see an extension to the primary school and creation of a new multi-use games area and car park.

It would also see the demolition of part of the senior school building wing based on Goldthorn Road.

New drawings based on the works have now approved by council bosses.

These include designs of the work on the car parks, comprising of kerb works, the installation of footpaths and grassy areas.

According to the drawings, some 'existing surfacing and top soil is to be excavated and removed'.
