Kingswood Trust bosses chuffed with new grant
Bosses at the Kingswood Trust have welcomed a grant of more than £4,000 to support the charity's environmental projects.
Based on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, the trust offers outdoor learning to more than 5,000 youngsters each year.
Pedmore Sporting Club has donated £4,360 to help with its Learn and Grow and Orchard projects, which are aimed at young people from the ages of 16-19 with a long term medical condition, disability or learning difficulty.
The youngsters will be able to participate in activities such as gardening, woodland and orchard management and habitat creation.
They will also be able to care for the resident pets, including ducks, chickens and sheep.
Kingswood manager, Rachel Wells said: "I am absolutely thrilled by the donation, this will enable groups of young people to make a positive contribution to Kingswood whilst benefitting from healthy connections with the great outdoors."
Pedmore Sporting Club was established 40 years ago in Stourbridge and has a membership of over 100 local businessmen who arrange celebrity lunches and sporting occasions.
The club has raised more than £1m for local needy and charitable causes.
