Dudley mayor’s Bostin’ Beer launched to support local charities on Black Country Day
The pale ale is a bespoke beer for the Mayor of Dudley’s charities
A Stourbridge brewery has teamed up with the Mayor of Dudley to create a special charity ale celebrating the borough and raising funds for a range of good causes.
Green Duck Beer Co has brewed a bespoke Mayor’s Bostin’ Beer, a 4.6 per cent ABV pale ale, with proceeds supporting the charities chosen by Councillor Pete Lowe during his mayoral year.
The limited edition beer was released on special advance for Black Country Day on Tuesday (July 14).
The beer carries the mayor’s #BOSTINDudley branding.
The mayor has selected seven charities and community organisations to benefit from fundraising during his year in office, including We Love Carers, Friends of Alfie Johnson, Stourbridge Town FC’s Floodlight Appeal, Gig Caritas/Busking for Charity, The What? Centre, Stourbridge Glass Museum and Brierley Hill Baby Bank.
Councillor Lowe said: "Black Country Day is the perfect opportunity to launch Mayor’s Bostin’ Beer.
“It celebrates our local pride, our independent businesses and, most importantly, helps raise money for charities and community groups making a real difference across the borough.

"I would like to thank Green Duck Beer Co. for getting behind this initiative and helping us create something truly bostin’.
“I hope residents will support the campaign, enjoy the beer responsibly and help us raise as much money as possible for these fantastic causes."
The beer has been brewed and canned at Green Duck’s Stourbridge base and features artwork inspired by Dudley’s skyline and civic heritage.
According to the brewery, the beer offers a balanced, refreshing character with hoppy and malty notes.
Green Duck Beer Co. director Alex Hill said: "As a proudly independent Black Country brewery, we are delighted to work with the mayor on this special release.
“Mayor’s Bostin’ Beer celebrates our local identity while helping raise funds for a range of worthwhile charities and community organisations across the borough."
The beer is available to purchase in advance from Green Duck Beer Co, supporting the mayor’s charitable fundraising efforts and proceeds from sales will be donated to the mayor’s charities.
