Man appears in court on driving charges after car hits lamp post in Oldbury leaving two injured

A man has appeared before magistrates charged with motoring offences after a stolen car hit a lamp post in Oldbury.

Corey Brown, aged 20, has been charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified and having no insurance.

It comes after a stolen car hit a lamppost and parked cars in Newbury Lane, Oldbury at just before 11pm on Friday.

Two passengers were injured and taken to hospital. One man sustained serious injuries and the second suffered injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Brown, of Albert Street, Lye appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates this morning (Monday) and has been given conditional bail.

He will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on April 22.
