The post read: "Sadly all our breakfast delivery was stolen early this morning. If anyone is approached by someone selling it (butter/yoghurts/bread/milk/cheese) please can you let us know so that we can add it to our police report - we have the CCTV footage.

"How awful that some feel they can steal from children!"

A spokeswoman from the school said: "It is upsetting that our school’s breakfast club delivery has been stolen. These provisions are not luxuries but essential support for children who rely on them to start their day with a meal.

"To take from a school in this way is not just theft, it’s taking directly from many children who already face challenges. I hope those responsible reflect on the real impact of their actions.

"Our pupils have recently been giving back to their community; taking part in litter picking on the streets surrounding our school, visiting the local library and farm, and visiting elderly residents in the local area. Through these efforts, they are developing a real sense of belonging and pride in where they live.

"This is a caring community and I know that it will come together to support the school and ensure the children continue to receive the help they need."

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police said: "We were called following reports of theft on Collingwood Road, Wolverhampton, at around 5am this morning.

"Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the details.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 quoting log 2016 of 23 March."
