Four teenagers arrested and knife seized in Wolverhampton city centre following disorder

Four teenagers were arrested and a knife was seized within minutes of a disorder being reported in Wolverhampton city centre.

On Saturday, March 21 officers responded to a call at around 4.45pm about a group of youths running with knives near shops in Queen Street

West Midlands Police's Project Guardian officers who were carrying out a routine patrol in the city centre pursued the group and a 15-year-old was arrested in North Street.

As they carried out searches in the area a lock knife was recovered and has been seized for forensic examinations.

Three further youths, aged 15, 18 and 19, were arrested by officers in Darlington Street just before 5pm.

Dimitri King, aged 19 and Emadul Mannan, aged 18 have both been charged with making threats with a weapon in a public place.

Two 15-year-olds who cannot be named for legal reason have also been charged with the same offence.

King and Mannan have been held in police cells before being due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (Monday, March 23), while the two youths were charged and bailed also to attend Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.
