TV psychic from Wolverhampton is facing jail after admitting he sexually assaulted two women
A TV psychic is facing jail after admitting he sexually assaulted a woman in Wolverhampton where he has links.
John Starkey, a director of the Psychic Research Foundation based in Penn Road, Wolverhampton, admitted one count of sexually assaulting a female aged 13 and over between April 1 and October 1, 2018. He also admitted two counts of assaulting a female December 14, 2018 and October 25, 2022 .

He initially denied the offences, but has since changed his pleas at a hearing at Mold Crown Court, Wales.
The court heard that a woman reported to police that he had sexually assaulted her in Wolverhampton in 2018 which prompted an investigation.

Months later the 74-year-old defendant tricked the same victim into attending a meeting with other clients at a London hotel, but when she arrived it was just the two of them there and he assaulted her.
Then in 2022 when Starkey was operating as a clairvoyant in a shop, in Llandudno, he sexually assaulted a young woman during a consultation and she immediately reported him to the police.
Starkey, who has spent three decades offering his services as a psychic including hosting charity fundraising events, states on his website: "Based in Wolverhampton, John offers home visits by appointment to anyone in the local area as well as in the West Midlands, London and on the North Welsh Coast.
"He is also happy to provide home visits throughout the UK and abroad for small group bookings and his special audience meetings also include after dinner talks and corporate entertainment."
He is the life president of the Psychic Research Foundation of Great Britain and also works as a life coach, claiming to help people 'reach their full potential, achieve their goals and develop a sense of inner calm and confidence'.
He once said that his among earliest memories was having a psychic gift which came when he was a choir boy at a church in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield.
Starkey later studied psychology at university whilst working part time at a butcher's shop where he said a colleague convinced him to set up business after he gave him a reading about his grandparents.
Judge Rhys Rowlands ordered that the defendant be immediately made subject to the sex offenders' register. Starkey, of Rhodfa'r Grug, Upper Colwyn Bay, was granted bail and sentencing was adjourned until next month.
