Three people charged with murder after body found in wheelie bin in West Midlands park

Three people have been charged with murder after the body of a man was discovered inside a wheelie bin.

West Midlands Police confirmed it had arrested three people as part of its investigation into the death of Thomas Niven, who was found dead in a park off Daimler Road in Coventry on Friday.

The force said that Tammy Sturdy, Camron Sturdy and Shane Turkington had all been arrested and charged with murder and were remanded in custody to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Three people have been charged with murder following our investigation into the death of Thomas Niven, who was found dead in Coventry this week.

"His body was found in a wheelie bin in a park off Daimler Road. 

"Following a fast-paced investigation, Tammy Sturdy, aged 45, Camron Sturdy, aged 21 and Shane Turkington, aged 37 have been charged with murder.

"The three, all from Coventry, have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.

"Specially trained officers are continuing to support Tom’s family, and our thoughts remain with everyone who knew him at this tragic time.
