Smethwick mosque murder: Further arrests made and charge made following death of Zeshan Afzal, including 13 year-old
Three more teenagers, including a 13 year-old, have been arrested this morning (Wednesday) over the murer of Zeshan Afzal outside a mosque in Smethwick
West Midlands Police has made three further arrests, including a boy aged 13, and a charge following the death of Zeshan Afzal outside a mosque in Smethwick during Ramadan.
Zeshan, 18, died after being stabbed outside the Jamia Masjid mosque Oldbury Road on February 20.
A spokesperson for WMP said: “Our investigation is continuing at pace, and our thoughts remain with Zeshan’s family.”
Yesterday, a 17-year-old boy, who can’t be named because of his age, was charged with murder.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today .
Since Zeshan’s death police have charged a total of seven teenagers with murder.
Thee further teenagers arrested
A further three teenagers, a 13-year-old boy and two 17-year-old boys, have been arrested this morning on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody for questioning.
