Woman arrested after string of shop thefts in Dudley and Sandwell
Police have arrested a woman after an investigation into a spree of shop thefts in Dudley borough
Officers were investigating reports of shop thefts which took place throughout February and the beginning of March in Kingswinford, Brierley Hill, Stourbridge and Lye as well as Rowley in Sandwell.
On February 4 a store on Swan Lane, Stourbridge, was targeted. A day later a store in Market Street, Kingswinford, was targeted, and two days later on February 7, the same store again had items stolen.
On February 6 and 11 a store on Hill Street in Brierley Hill had stock worth more than £100 taken from the shelves, and another report was made on February 26 after £30 of goods were taken from a shop in Rowley, Sandwell.
A further theft was reported on February 23 at a store on Belmont Road, in Lye.
A 32-year-old woman was arrested yesterday (March 9) on suspicion of eight counts of shop theft and remains in custody while a police investigation continues.
