Attempted murder charge after man shot in car park in Wolverhampton city centre

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Wolverhampton.

Tyriq Bingham, aged 22, was arrested last night (March 9) and charged after a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg in Peel Street, close to Wolverhampton Ring Road, on October 12 last year.

Bingham, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm, robbery and possession of a class B drug.

He has been remanded to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said officers have been investigating and continue to carry out enquiries.
