Police investigation launched into Black Country factory fire believed to have been started deliberately
An investigation has begun into a fire at a factory unit which police say they believe was started deliberately.
West Midlands Police said it was working with fire investigators to establish the cause of the fire, which broke out at Claron Polyseal on Station Road in Old Hill, Cradley Heath on Friday night (March 6).
Around six fire crews, as well as a hydraulic platform, worked to tackle the fire at the unit, which stores hydraulic seals, lumber and plastic, with the fire having been reported to be in a storage area.
The area around the unit was still cordoned off the following morning, with fire investigation officers working alongside firefighters to check the scene, dampen down any hotspots and work to determine the cause.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating a fire at an industrial unit on Station Road, Cradley Heath.
"The fire, which was reported to us around 10.15pm last Friday, was dealt with by fire service colleagues and thankfully no one was hurt.
"At this stage it is believed the fire was started deliberately, and we are working with fire investigators to establish the cause.
