Man appears in court charged with terrorism offences after police raid on Black Country house
A man has appeared in court after being charged with terrorism offences following a police operation in the Black Country.
West Midlands Police confirmed that Maroof Abdullah had appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on Monday following his arrest on Friday following a pre-planned policing operation.
Abdullah, 18, of Cradley Heath, was remanded in custody for a further hearing later in March, having been charged with two counts of disseminating terrorist materials.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has appeared in court following an arrest made in Cradley Heath, by detectives from Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands.
"Maroof Abdullah was detained from an address on Friday 6 March as part of a pre-planned policing operation.

"The 18-year-old, from Cradley Heath, was subsequently charged with two counts of disseminating terrorist materials.
"He appeared before Westminster Magistrates on Monday where he was remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing later this month.
"We are grateful for the support of the local community while we carried out enquiries at the address.
