Three women suffered gunshot injuries after a gun was fired from a car in Frederick Street as they stood outside a bar.

On Thursday, two men, Shaun Andrews and DeShaun White, both from Wolverhampton, were jailed for 78 years between them.

Andrews, aged 24, of Russell Road, Bilston, was locked up for 40 years and White, aged 22, of of  Westacre Crescent, Wolverhampton, was given 38 years at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

They had both been convicted of three counts of attempted murder and the possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Investigators found that the shots had been fired from a black Seat Ibiza, at around 11pm on 27 September, 2024.

The car then left Wolverhampton along Compton Road and headed to Nottingham.

Firearms officers were alerted that it was returning to the city and they stopped it on Parkfield Road at the junction with Birmingham New Road two days later.

Its registered keeper and insured driver, White, was arrested by officers and charged.

The second man in the car, Andrews fled to Scotland but was later arrested by police colleagues in Manchester and subsequently charged.

Det Insp Racheal Allen, from the Major Crime Unit at West Midlands Police, said: "The three women are sadly still continuing to recover from their injuries inflicted by the violence these two men unleashed.

"Gun crime is a danger that we cannot tolerate on our streets and this sentencing sends a strong message that those who carry it out will be punished and spend many, many years behind bars for their actions."
