Police charge 19-year-old after seizing knife in Birmingham city centre

A man has been charged after police officers seized a knife in Birmingham city centre.

West Midlands Police officers were patrolling in the Steelhouse Lane area on Wednesday, February 25 when they were flagged down by a member of the public, who suggested they had seen someone with a knife.

The local officers carried out immediate enquiries and detained a man following a foot chase. A large knife was recovered nearby and seized.

Reuven Sahota was arrested and has since been charged with possession of a knife.

The 19-year-old, from Birmingham, is due before the city’s Magistrates Court next month.
