Two men banned from Kidderminster football matches for four years after disorder at game
Two men have been given football banning orders and fined by the courts for their role in disorder after a match last year.
Samuel Enderbury and Daniel Wyatt both pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress when they appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Enderbury, 26, of Redwing Court, Kidderminster, and Wyatt, 36, of Lister Road, Kidderminster, were banned from attending football matches for four years and ordered to pay £85 costs. Enderbury was fined £160 and Wyatt fined £40.
Their sentences follow an incident on Saturday, September 6 when they were involved in an altercation after the match between Kidderminster Harriers and Macclesfield Town.
The court heard how Enderbury threw a can of beer at a group of away fans looking to provoke disorder and Wyatt also acted in a threatening and aggressive manner, making threats of violence towards police officers too who were attempting to maintain order among a large group of supporters.
PC Ryan Bridgewood, one of the officers on duty at the time, said: “We are pleased Enderbury and Wyatt have been banned from attending football matches for four years following their appalling behaviour after the game against Macclesfield last September.
“Their actions were designed solely to provoke the away fans into disorder and caused fear and intimidation among those supporters who had just come along to enjoy a Saturday afternoon game, and they threatened police officers with violence too.
“We hope this court result shows we will always act against the minority who want to spoil it for the majority of fans and serve as a reminder to those looking to create disorder you too could face a banning order.”
