Two charged over 11 shop thefts in Willenhall, Pelsall, Wednesbury and Darlaston
Two suspected shop thieves were due in court today after being arrested in Walsall over the weekend.
The alleged offenders were arrested separately by West Midlands Police officers on Saturday (February 21) in Walsall and remained in custody ahead of appearing before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Monday.
Between them they are charged with 11 separate counts of theft from shops in Willenhall, Pelsall, Wednesbury and Darlaston.
Ashley Wigley, aged 41, of Pelsall, is charged with five thefts between February 14 and February 21.
Jason Perry, aged 54, of no fixed address, is charged with six thefts, between January 8 and February 2.
A statement from West Midlands Police read: "We understand that retail crime impacts our communities and the shops and stores they serve, which is why our teams always want to hear about thefts, or any information about those responsible.
