Man and woman arrested after heroin, crack cocaine and mobile phones found in car
A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences in Staffordshire.
Staffordshire Police officers spotted a car being driven suspiciously in the Amington area of Tamworth at around 1pm yesterday (February 17).
Officers stopped the car on Boundary Way, where the vehicle was searched.
Heroin and crack cocaine were discovered, along with cash and multiple mobile phones.
The male driver and female front seat passenger were detained at the scene.
A later search of an address in Stoneydelph led officers to recover drug paraphernalia, along with further crack cocaine, cannabis, and a large knife.
A 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, both of Tamworth, were each arrested on suspicion of two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, heroin and crack cocaine.
The man was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug, cannabis, driving while disqualified, possession of criminal property and possession of a bladed article in a private place.
The woman was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, heroin and crack cocaine.
They both remain in police custody while inquiries continue.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers continue to work proactively to disrupt the supply of illegal substances in Staffordshire and urge anyone who witnesses anything suspicious in their community to get in touch.
