Birmingham man jailed for conspiring to sell firearms
A man has been jailed for eight years for conspiring to sell firearms in Birmingham.
Delayni Woodcock, aged 24, of Brockworth Road, Birmingham, has been jailed for eight years for conspiring to sell firearms following an investigation by West Midlands Police.
Officers with the force's Major Crime Unit launched an investigation into the 24-year-old, where they discovered that he had been negotiating the sale of firearms and ammunition between March 2023 and April 2024.

Text messages found on a phone showed that Woodcock would receive enquiries asking what firearms he had for sale, including one message which read "How much is a Uzi?".
Woodcock was interviewed in September 2024 and went on to plead guilty at Birmingham Crown Court to conspiring to possess a firearm without a certificate, and three counts of conspiring to sell a prohibited weapon.

Woodcock was jailed for eight years on February 10.
Detective constable Sharon Hetherington, from West Midlands Police's Major Crime Unit, said: "Woodcock was clearly trying to sell firearms which would undoubtedly have gone on to be used to commit crime, causing untold fear and potential fatality.

"Thankfully, following a complex investigation, we've been able to identify a person trying to acquire and sell weapons and disrupt organised crime.
