Two men jailed following investigation into drug line operating in Cannock

Two men will be beginning long spells behind bars following an investigation into a drugs line supplying class A drugs in Cannock.

Jake Holford and Cameron Preece were both sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Monday.

Holford, 23, of Brooke Road, Pye Green, Cannock, was jailed for three years after he admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – cocaine and acquire / using / possessing criminal property.

Preece, 22, of Broadway, Pye Green, Cannock, was jailed for four-years-and-eight-months after he admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis, acquire / use / possess criminal property and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid / gas / electrical incapacitation device.

Following an investigation into the drugs line supplying cocaine across Cannock, Preece was arrested on June 11 last year. 

When officers searched his house, they seized approximately £2,500 in cash, cocaine, cannabis, scales and a stun gun and also seized the drugs line phone.

Following an examination of the phone, Holford was arrested on July 31 last year, with officers searching his house and seizing approximately £3,390-worth of cocaine, around £5,390 in cash, snap bags, scales and three mobile phones.

Both men denied being involved in drugs supply when they were interviewed in custody, but officers worked to gather evidence against them which led to them pleading guilty in court.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "As part of Operation Extrados, we remain committed to tackling the supply of class A drugs across Cannock.

"We’re working hard every single day to act robustly against those suspected of high harm offences, including drug supply, firearm possession and gang activity."
