A security guard intervened but was punched in the face by Egege.

He was then detained until West Midlands Police officers arrived.

Following his arrest, the 39-year-old also spat at an officer.

Thanks to good quality CCTV footage in both stores, Egege of no fixed address was charged with two counts of shop theft, common assault and assaulting a constable.

He appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court and was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison.
