Walsall man jailed after leading police on chase across the Black Country whilst already banned from driving

A Walsall man who was previously told by a district judge he was 'a fatal accident waiting to happen' has been jailed for 14 months after an appearance at crown court.

Callum Nightingale, aged 26, was already serving a 36 week suspended sentence for driving whilst disqualified imposed in September last year when he again got behind the wheel and led police on a chase through Wednesbury to Walsall on December 29.

Wolverhampton Crown Court heard his driving was so erratic, the national police helicopter was scrambled and Recorder Abi Joyce said given the serious nature of the matter and the breach of the suspended sentence, only a period in custody would be appropriate
