Man charged with robbery offence after arrest in Brownhills
A man has been charged with robbery following a incident at a Brownhills store.
West Midlands Police said that Michael Oram had been charged with robbery following the incident on January 17 on Friezland Street, where a member of staff was threatened with a weapon and money taken from the till.
The force confirmed the 47-year-old from Burntwood was set to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday. No details are yet available for his appearance.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We’ve arrested and charged a man following a robbery at a Brownhills store.
"Michael Oram, aged 47, from Burntwood, Staffordshire, is set to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (Wed) for a first hearing.
"He is charged with robbery on 17 January at a store on Friezland Lane.
"A member of staff was threatened with a weapon before money was taken from the till.
"Reducing robbery offences is one of our force priorities and we are running Operation Ruby to tackle those committing crime.
"We’re also working to spread crime prevention messaging across the region so people can take all reasonable steps possible to help keep themselves and their belongings safe.
