Police probe launched after elderly woman hit by car and seriously injured in Boxing Day Birmingham crash

Police are seeking witnesses after an elderly woman was left with serious injuries after being struck by a car.

West Midlands Police has asked for help in gathering information following a collision in Birmingham on Boxing Day.

The woman, aged in her 70s, was crossing Frankley Beeches Road, Birmingham, on December 26 when she was hit by a car at the junction with Elan Road and Tessall Lane at around 5pm.

She suffered serious injuries, from which she is said to still be recovering.

The driver stopped and was spoken to at the scene, and now police asking for help to establish exactly what happened.

A force spokesperson said: "If you were there, saw the incident, or have dashcam or CCTV footage, please contact us.

"Likewise, please get in touch if you have any footage of a grey coloured car in the Hamstead Road or Villa Road area beforehand."
