Man, 39, charged with 14 shop thefts across Sandwell and Birmingham
West Midlands Police has charged a man with more than a dozen shop thefts across Birmingham and Sandwell.
Joshua Findlater, from Harborne, has been charged with 14 counts of shop theft and one count of assault across Sandwell and Birmingham, following thefts between November and January.
West Midlands Police officers responded to reports of someone attempting to steal from a store in Great Barr on Monday evening (January 26).
Findlater, 39, was arrested by West Midlands Police and was taken into custody for questioning.
Following further enquiries, it was found that Findlater was also suspected of being involved in a series of shop thefts between November and January.
He was remanded to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court.
A force spokesperson said: "We know the impact shop theft has on retailers and communities, and it's why we're continuing to act against such crimes across the region.
"The number of arrests for shop theft offences increased by over 60 per cent in two years as we've improved the way we respond to reports."
