In August last year, Staffordshire Police were called to the Hargrave's mother's home on Goldenhill when the domestic incident was first reported.

Hargreaves punched her in the face and put his hands around her throat, before ripping a television off the wall and damaging a bedroom door.

When this mother gave him £250, Hargreaves left the house.

In September last year, officers spotted Hargreaves in Milton.

He acted aggressively against the officer and was arrested at the scene.

He has now been jailed.

A force spokesperson said: "We will continue to take robust action against those responsible for violence and domestic abuse across Staffordshire, working to support victims and to deliver positive outcomes through the criminal justice system.
