Police rescue 'Tiny Tim' runaway horse found wandering on a road in Stourbridge

Stourbridge police lead runaway horse Tiny Tim to safety after he was found on a road.

Dudley officers and PCSOs with West Midlands Police discovered a horse called 'Tiny Tim' wanderng on a road in Stourbrige while they were patrolling streets to deal with anti-social behaviour patrols and speeding motorists.

'Tiny Tim' was found to have escaped his field and went for a walk along the roads; however, with some gentle persuasion from the PCSO, the horse was reunited with his friends and the escape route repaired. 

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "It was an unusual start to the day for one of our Stourbridge PCSOs on Friday (16 Jan) when a four-legged friend needed help finding their home. 

"'Tiny Tim’ had managed to escape his field and go for a walk along the roads, but after some gentle persuasion from the PCSO, he was reunited with his friends and the escape route repaired."

Meanwhle in Halesowen, dedicated neighbourhood officer PC Higgit visited St John the Baptist Church to offer crime prevention advice and answer questions about local issues.

Neighbourhood officers and PCSOs in the Halesowen area were also busy, holding foot patrols around Highfield Lane Skate Park, offering reassurance to residents about antisocial behaviour.

In Dudley, officers from Dudley Town were carrying out beat surgeries in different stores across the area, spending time talking to students and staff members at the Dudley College of Technology about the dangers of crime.

And finally, in Halesowen, the neighbourhood team headed over to Bassnage Road, Narrow Lane, and Portsdown Road, to ensure everyone was abiding by the laws of the road. 

The spokesperson added: "This work is part of the national Winter of Action initiative, where we are working with partners in town centres across the region, tackling crime, reassuring communities, and ensuring our high streets are welcoming and safe for everyone. Safer Streets Winter."
