Appeal to trace woman seen lying on Handsworth road following concerns from the public
An appeal for help tracing a woman who was reported by residents to be lying on the road.
West Midlands Police have released an image of a woman who it said had been seen lying on Putney Road in Handsworth, with multiple calls coming in at 9.30pm.
The force has asked for help tracing the woman to ensure that she is ok and has asked for anyone with any information to get in touch.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We’re appealing for information to help us trace a woman following calls from concerned members of the public on Wednesday night.
"We received multiple calls at around 9.30pm to reports of a woman lying in Putney Road, Handsworth.
"We urgently need to trace this woman to make sure she is ok.
"The woman is described as having black curly hair and wearing a light-coloured dress, a white coloured jacket, black knee-high boots and carrying a handbag.
"We are carrying out urgent CCTV enquiries and speaking to people in the area.
