Man, 45, found dead at Wolverhampton school named locally as tributes left on social media
Tributes have been paid to a man who was found dead on the grounds of Smestow Academy in Wolverhampton.
The tributes have made to the man, named locally on social media as Neil, following the discovery of a body at Smestow Academy on Monday morning.
The 45-year-old man was found with injuries on the grounds of the school in Castlecroft and was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Midlands Police said they were currently treating his death as unexplained and were reviewing CCTV footage from around the area to establish what happened.
The force also said the victim had been seen at 1am on Monday morning on Wheatsheaf Road in Wolverhampton before then being sighted on the school grounds at 7.15am.
One tribute online said: "Was a good lad, can’t believe it. Rest easy up there mate.", while another tribute said: "Rest easy brother. You really will be missed by many."
One more tribute said: "I really can’t believe I’m reading posts that you have gone.

"I have lots of good memories of you growing up and good times.
"May god bless you. RIP Sending My condolences to all of the family."
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole from West Midlands Police Homicide Unit, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation, and I would ask that people do not speculate on the circumstances.
“We know this has caused concern in the community and there will be extra officers in the area for reassurance.
