Woman arrested over shop thefts in Willenhall

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of stealing from a shop in Willenhall.

West Midlands Police said a 49-year-old woman has been arrested after the same shop was targeted twice in a four-day period.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said today (Thursday): "We've arrested a woman on suspicion of stealing from the same shop in Willenhall.

"A store in Lichfield Road was targeted twice between November 24 and 27 last year.

"Following enquiries we've this morning arrested a 49-year-old woman on suspicion of theft.

"She has been taken into custody for questioning.

"Our teams are taking part in the national Winter of Action initiative where we work with partners in town centres across the region tackling crime, reassuring communities, and ensuring our high streets are welcoming and safe for everyone."
