Nine dogs and five snakes rescued from 'disgusting' conditions in property near West Bromwich
A woman is facing a ban on owning animals after pets were found caked in dog dirt at a property near West Bromwich.

At Dudley Magistrates Court on Wednesday defendant Katrina Hill blamed health issues for keeping the pets in "disgusting" conditions which resulted in animal welfare officers rescuing nine dogs and five snakes from her home, in Thompson Road, Bristnall, in Oldbury, last year.
Hill pleaded guilty to an offence that between May 5 and August 5, 2025 at Oldbury that she did not take such steps as were reasonable in all the circumstances to ensure that the needs of an animal for which she was responsible, namely nine dogs, were met to the extent required by good practice in that confining the said animals in an unsuitable environment, failing to protect the animals from pain, suffering, injury and distress.
Miss Janita Patel, prosecuting, told the court that some of the dogs were discovered "caked" in mess and parts of the premises were saturated in urine.
Miss Patel said: "This is a section nine offence where she failed to meet the needs of dogs relating to the environment. Animal welfare officer Ashley Moore attended the defendant's home address. The front window was covered in flies and the floor was covered in dog faeces.
