Nadeem Khan was blasted twice with a shotgun as he sat in his car outside his Charles Foster Street home at 9am on October 11, 2024. Despite firing at his victim's head at pointblank range through the driving side window twice and then coldly reloaded the firearm and blasting Mr Khan a third time as he dragged himself towards his home, the gunman failed to kill his prey.

However, he has evaded justice as none of the five men sentenced in connection with the shooting pulled the trigger. They were part of the shooter's support team, who were part of trial runs and aborted attempts in the days leading up to the crime, stealing cars, procuring a shotgun and aiding the getaway.

The five Birmingham men originally faced life sentences after being charged with conspiracy to commit murder. However, on the second day of their trial the Crown Prosecution Service accepted guilty pleas of lesser charges saving the taxpayer more than £100,000.

Mohammed Ishtiaq, Abdullah Amjad, Shamus Hussain, Samir Khan, and Dilawar Khan, all from Birmingham pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and causing grievous bodily harm with a shotgun.
