Two men arrested in Birmingham and weapons, drugs and cash recovered following reports of suspicious behaviour on a street

Two people were arrested in Birmingham and weapons, drugs and cash seized after a member of the public reported suspicious behaviour on a city street.

Officers from Birmingham Police were called to Grove Cottage Road in Small Heath just before 6pm on Wednesday after a man was spotted with a weapon in a parked car.

The officers, from the Operations Unit, approached the vehicle on Grove Cottage Road and detained two men while the car was searched, with a knife, knuckle duster, drugs and cash recovered.

A man aged 28 was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife, possession of an offensive weapon, possession with intent to supply Class A and possession of Class B drugs, while a 50-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. 

Both remain in police custody.
