Puppy found dumped on a Wolverhampton canal towpath finds a loving home over Christmas - charity asks for help to find who left the dog
A puppy found dumped on a canal towpath in Wolverhampton has spent Christmas in a warm and loving home as charity appeals for help to find out who left the dog with two others who have died.
Comet was one of three dogs found in a cardboard box in Four Ashes in Wolverhampton on December 22, with one having already died.
Comet and her sister Vixen were taken to Ravens Rescue in Dudley and treated for worms and given essential fluids and nourishment, but despite the best efforts of vets, it was confirmed that Vixen had died.
The charity put out updates across the festive period to inform of the health and condition of Comet, saying that she had responded to treatment and was eating better, before saying that she had been taken in by a foster family over Christmas.
The charity said prior to Christmas on Facebook: "Little Comet has been allowed to leave our vets and head to one of our amazing foster homes.

"She’s had a good night and her tummy has settled down but our vets are on standby over the Christmas period should she need to be seen.
"She is eating little and often due to her being so malnourished. She has started to play a little too.
"Thank you all so so much for the overwhelming love and support she has received. You are all truly Pawsome."
A later update on Saturday showed Comet looking happy and informed the public that she had had a good Christmas with her foster family.

The update read: "Little Comet is still doing well.
"She’s seen our vet again today as her tummy is still unsettled but she’s on treatment still for that.
"Her amazing foster family have gone above and beyond with their care for her and Christmas Day she enjoyed helping open up gifts (including one for her).
"Thank you all so much for your love and ongoing support for her, we truly appreciate it."

The charity has asked for anyone with any information about who dumped Comet and the other puppies to get in touch.
A statement read: "Did you see anyone with a plain brown cardboard box walking the tow path?
"Do you know anyone trying to get rid of pups matching their description?
"Please help us trace who did this we need to check for mom and any other pups at ravensrescueuk@gmail.com."
