Murder in Wolverhampton: Two arrests as man, 30, stabbed to death on Christmas Day

Police have arrested two men after a man was stabbed to death in Wolverhampton in the early hours of Christmas Day.

West Midlands Police officers and paramedics were called just after 3.30am on Thursday to Burcot Avenue to reports a 30-year-old man had been stabbed. 

Despite the best efforts of emergency service crews, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, aged 35 and 58, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Police remained at the scene into Christmas Day afternoon as "quick-time" enquiries continued.

Detective Chief Superintendent Ed Foster said: "We are in the early stages of our investigation and carrying out quick-time enquiries including forensic examination, reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses.

"We ask anyone who may have any information about what happened to contact us."
