Man, 23, charged with Birmingham murder following stabbing on street

A murder suspect has been charged following the death of a man in Birmingham after a stabbing.

West Midlands Police confirmed that Abdou Sillah had been charged with murder and possession of a knife and was remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on December 26.

The murder charge comes following the death of Kiirpaal Nhian, who was found with serious injuries on the evening of December 20 in Small Heath, with the 29-year-old dying at the scene.

It also said that the investigation was on-going and asked for anyone with any information to get in touch as soon as possible.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We've charged a man with murder following a fatal stabbing in Birmingham last weekend.

"A man was found with serious injuries in Swanage Road, Small Heath, at around 6.40pm on Saturday (December 20). 

"Kiirpaal Nhian, aged 29, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Following enquiries we yesterday detained a 23-year-old man on suspicion of murder and possession of a knife. 

"Abdou Sillah, of Birmingham, has now been charged with the offences. He has been remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on December 26.
