Arrest made after woman hit by car in Wolverhampton crash
A man was arrested after a car collision which left a woman pedestrian needing hospital treatment.
West Midlands Police said the 28-year-old man had been arrested on Monday on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a collision following the incident on Saturday.
The incident saw a Seat Ibiza collide with another car on Goldthorn Hill in Wolverhampton at the junction with Fowler Street, with the woman, who is in her 50s, hit on the pavement.
The force confirmed she had been taken to hospital and remained in stable condition and has asked for anyone with any information to get in touch.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We’ve arrested a man after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Wolverhampton on Saturday (December 20).
"At around 8.40pm the Seat Ibiza collided with another car on Goldthorn Hill, at the junction of Fowler Street, before hitting a woman on the pavement.
"The driver left the scene, and the woman, in her 50s, was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
"Yesterday (December 22) we arrested a man aged 28 on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and failing to stop after a collision.
"He remains in custody as our enquiries continue.
