Homemade firearm and 'Rambo' knife recovered in Birmingham as teenager arrested
Police have arrested a 19-year-old man after a 'slam gun', 'Rambo' knife and cannabis were recovered in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police's Operation Fearless officers have arrested a 19-year-old man after a homemade 'slam gun', Rambo knife, machete, and an amount of cannabis were recovered following a stop in Handsworth.
Officers were patrolling near Soho Road when they became suspicious of the teenager, who was standing near the junction with Barn Lane.

After searching the man, he was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
A search was also carried out at an address on the nearby Cranbrook Road, where officers recovered a 'slam gun', which is a homemade firearm capable of firing projectiles, and two bladed weapons.
The arrest comes as part of the force's Operation Fearless, which sees officers patrol the streets to tackle the crimes that harm communities the most.
A force spokesperson said: "We’ve recovered a homemade gun along with a Rambo knife and a machete after a routine stop and search of a man on the Soho Road in Handsworth.
"Officers from Operation Fearless were on e-bike patrols when they became suspicious of the 19-year-old, who was standing near the junction with Barn Lane.
"They searched the man, and he was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
"Officers then carried out a search of an address on nearby Cranbrook Road and recovered a slam gun, which is a homemade weapon capable of firing projectiles, and the two-bladed weapons."
